Granting Scholarships for 14 Students, of the 7th Secondary School Batch to Study at Petronas' University of Technology, Malaysia
During the ceremony which was held on 16/1/2011 and attended by Mr. Aminul Rasheed, Executive Director of Petronas- Egypt, grant scholarships for 14 students, representing the 7th batch of secondary school graduates to study Different Engineering Specialties and Information Technology at Petronas' University of Technology, Malaysia, Eng. Sameh Fahmi, Minister of Petroleum assured the Petroleum Sector keenness to provide scholarships for talented students of Secondary School to study engineering and information technology in specialized universities outside Egypt, in addition to supporting and developing the departments & faculties of Petroleum Engineering at the Egyptian Universities to keep pace with the rapid developments in the Oil and Gas industry . It is noteworthy that, these Scholarships were provided by the Ministry of Petroleum, in collaboration with Malaysia's Petronas since 2005.

The Minister pointed to the Petroleum Sector's continuous implementation of the strategy to develop programs and faculties' laboratories as well as Petroleum Engineering Departments at the Egyptian Universities, including the development of Petroleum Engineering Faculty at the the Suez Canal University, throughout the Cooperation Protocol signed with the Ministry of Higher Education, and setting up specialized programs for natural gas and petrochemicals in the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University .
For his part , Mr. Aminul Rashid praised the ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Petroleum to provide scholarships for Egyptian students at Petronas' University of Technology - Malaysia, whose number has reached 105 students over the past years, have demonstrated superior competence and commitment and the first group of these graduates joined the Sector, by working in the Egyptian companies, to transfer the scientific expertise, acquired during their study.
