Following the swearing in, before the Field Marshal, Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, head of the Armed Force Supreme Council Eng Abdullah Ghorab,

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources stated that he was received yesterday morning, by Dr. Essam Sharaf, the Prime Minister, where he was designated the Petroleum Ministry's office and he accepted the office as he is ready to serve Egypt at any place. He added that he would act in collaboration with his fellow leadership of the Ministry & the Sector, to work on the performance development over the coming phase in order to provide the domestic market with all petroleum products to achieve the government of Dr. Essam Sharaf's first goal, which is to facilitate means of life for all Egyptians and raise the burden of living off their shoulders, adding that he felt honored and proud for being assigned to such duty as an Egyptian in this critical phase of Egypt's history, pointing out that the Petroleum Sector is one of the most sensitive & strategic Sectors in Egypt and of main interest to all citizens who require to be provided with petroleum products on an economic, safe ongoing basis. The Minister added that this topic, specifically, comes on top of his priorities over the coming period, as well, affirming that the Petroleum Sector is committed to World petroleum agreements, works with foreign partners, and will exert all required efforts to continue cooperation, understanding and joint work to maintain these agreements in order to sustain oil and natural gas production system in its best feature in favor of Egypt and its partners' benefit, to achieve the Ministry of Petroleum's national goals towards the country.
