Programmable Logic Controller PLC Architecture and Basic Programming
Course Objective:
This course demonstrates the concepts involved in deploying and maintaining automation systems based on PLCs. It covers discrete and analog control applications, operator interface systems and links to plant networks, and introduces advanced graphical programming tools for PLCs as defined in the IEC 1131 standard Part 3. • To select the appropriate applications to use PLC in • To identify the basic components of a PLC system • To develop and test a PLC program using Ladder diagram instructions • To install and address discrete and analogue I/O for a given PLC • To apply the fundamentals of programming instructions into various applications • To follow guidelines for the installation, wiring, and maintenance of PLC systems • To design and test process simulation programs using the PLC instruction set • To design and develop closed-loop analog control systems with PLCs • To understand the IEC 1131 programming language standards
