This course covers the following topics:
Principles of Heat Transfer (Heat, Temperature and Heat, Latent Heat, Modes of Heat Transfer) Heat Transfer in Heat Exchangers, Types of Heat Exchangers, Shell and Tube Exchangers, Double pipe Exchangers, Air – Cooled Exchangers, Plat Heat Exchangers, Heat Exchanger Operations, and Heat Exchanger Problems.
Theory of Heat Transfer in Fired Heater, Fired Heater Designs, Performance Monitoring, Operation, and Troubleshooting.

This course is designed for Junior Engineers, Senior Operators, and Operators who are working in Oil Production Facilities and Oil Refineries.
Course Content
At the end of the course the Attendees should be able to:
• Understand the Principles of Heat Transfer.
• Recognize the difference between Temperature and Heat.
• Know the Heat Transfer Formula.
• Identify the difference between the Sensible Heat and Latent Heat.
• Know the Modes of Heat Transfer.
• Know how Heat is transferred between Fluids.
• Know the Function of Heat Transfer Equipment.
• Understand the Mechanisms of Heat Transfer in Heat Exchangers.
• Identify the different Types of Heat Exchangers.
• Know the components of Shell and Tube Exchangers.
• Know the components of Double pipe Exchangers.
• Know the components of Air – Cooled Exchangers.
• Take a Heat Exchanger Out of Service.
Place heat Exchanger in Service.
Know Testing procedures of Heat Exchanger for leaks.
• Identify the Heat Exchanger Problems and how to troubleshoot.
• Understand the Theory of Heat Transfer in Fired Heater.
• Understand the Combustion reactions.
• Know the types of Fuels and how to calculate its Heating Values.
• Identify Fired Heater components.
• Monitor Fired Heater Performance (excess oxygen, draft, product outlet temperature, burners, flame patterns, fluid flow, stack temperature, process flow rates).
• Start Up, Shutdown and Troubleshoot the Furnace
