The organization is owned and governed by a Board of Directors comprised of senior industry representatives. The Shareholders of OGS are:


 
 
EGPC Owens 30% of OGS Shares, EGPC is the first economic corporation constituted in Egypt according to the Law no. 135 of 1956 under the name of "The General Corporation of Petroleum Affairs" subjoined to the Ministry of Industry; having its legal personality. The corporation establishment law was amended by the Law no. 332 for the year 1956 at 10/9/1956 to be under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry. In 1976, the Law no. 20 of 1976 was issued to establish "The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation" (EGPC) EGPC working as a holding corporation owns 12 public sector companies, sharing in 58-petroleum companies with foreign partners. EGPC and its companies sharing in 39 companies with a total paid capital of $938 million and 2.6 billion Egyptian pounds. 
  
EGAS Owens 20% of OGS Shares, and as the Natural gas industry is one of the most dynamic and flourishing industries and In view of natural gas industry vital role to the country's economy and according to the vision of the Ministry of Petroleum, it was decided to establish EGAS as an entity focusing on the natural gas chain of activities, EGAS was established on August 2001, adopting an effective action plan to organize and diligently handle the activities of the natural gas resources of Egypt and adding value to the Egyptian economy.
 
PETROJET was formed in 1975 as a national joint stock company capable of competing with other foreign petroleum companies manipulating the execution of the major national oil and gas projects and eliminating the needs of local companies to fabricate equipment abroad. PETROJET, for more than 29 years full of achievements succeeded to position itself as a leading industrial petroleum company. 
PETROJET has been taking considerable strides to become a world class player in its field and build its vision embarking on using state of art technologies assuring operational excellence and cost efficiency, complying with the health safety and environment international standard. PETROJET has been actively developing an international reputation for HSE and quality commitment qualified the company to obtain the ISO 14001 and the quality management system certificate ISO 9001.

ECHEM owns 10% of OGS shares, and ECHEM is an independent and special entity for petrochemicals industry, has been established in Egypt. His excellence Eng. Sameh Fahmy, Minister of petroleum issued a decree in the 22nd of January 2002 concerning the establishment of “Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Co.”, assigning the task of managing and supervising the establishment of a developed petrochemicals industry in Egypt. This aims at finding a new strong entity that is capable of setting the necessary automation for carrying out the petrochemical master plan.

GASCO was established in march 1997 according to the investment low no 230 0f 1989 to be a go-between upstream gas products and downstream gas products, and since the establishment of GASCO, more than 27 major projects of pipelines totaling 1500 km with different diameters (12" to 36") in different terrains providing supervision and project management using the state of the art software in the field of stress analysis, pipeline design by the project team achieving international standards. GASCO registered as EPC and Project Management contractor on the bidder list of many of gas and oil companies in Egypt and the Middle East. GASCO is a member of the E-GAS-led consortium in The Arab Gas Pipeline.
 
ENPPI was established on January 15, 1978 and is currently working under Egyptian Investment Law 8 for 1997, with a paid capital of 30 million US Dollars. The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, EGPC, is the principal shareholder owning 97% of the total shares. Enppi is recognized as a major engineering and management contractor, with a proven track record in the field of oil & gas for both onshore and offshore projects. To date, over 579 major projects and 17 million man-hours of professional services have been completed for oil and gas, refining, petrochemical and general industry Projects.
